Australian Music Board Examination Results
From 1993 to 1998, was involved in learning Speech and Drama under the guidance of an AMEB Speech and Drama Teacher. In 1994, I undertook my first practical examination and my marks in this and the subsequent examinations are as follows:
1994: 2nd grade … B+ (Credit Plus)
1995: 3rd grade … A (Honours)
1996: 4th grade … A (Honours)
1997: 5th grade … A+ (High Distinction)
1998: 6th grade … A (Honours)
2003: 7th grade ... A (Honours).
I compete in the annual Goulburn and Canberra Eisteddfods and generally achieve good marks. In 2005 I received the most marks for any competitor in both Goulburn and Canberra Eisteddfods for a character monologue. In 2004 I was awarded the Speech and Drama Scholarship for the Most Outstanding Competitor at the Goulburn Eisteddfod.
University and other Degrees
In the time between 1998 and 2003, I completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours at the University of Newcastle. After completing a double major in film and drama, I spent one year writing a thesis as part of my Honours degree: Music in Melodrama: From the Victorian Stage to Twentieth Century Screen. You can see my Academic Information page to read some extracts. My mark for this work was a High Second-Class Honours. This original thesis included three disciplines, which is not only rare, but also very challenging.
In 2003 I completed a Certificate IV for Small Business Management with South East Training Services.
In 2008 I completed my Graduate Diploma of Secondary Education in Drama so I am now a qualified high school drama teacher.
